What is Tension Type Headache?

Do you know what tension type headache's (TTH)  are?  Let's see if any of these symptoms sound familiar! Let's go! A headache that... Feels like a tight band wrapped around the head Mild to moderate pain intensity  Both sides of the head Usually no nausea or vomiting Not affected by more than one of either sound or light There are 4 main types of tension type headaches. Every type has at least two from the previous list! The main differences between the different types of tension type headache are the frequency and intensity of the headache. 4 main types: Infrequent episodic: <12 days/year, lasts 30min -7days Frequent episodic: 1-14 days/month >3 months, lasts 30min-7days Chronic: >15 days/month >3 months, lasts for hours/days Probable: headache that is missing one criteria to fulfil criteria Search: International Classification of Headache Disorders - 3 tension type headaches for more information!
